Keith Nixon is the CEO of SaskCentral. Keith came to this role with 30 years of experience contributing to the Saskatchewan credit union system. Keith began his employment with SaskCentral in 1987 as Junior Analyst, Data Processing Micro Development. These responsibilities benefited from Keith’s solid work history already gained with Saskatchewan credit unions, including Trainee/Teller, Loans Officer/Manager and Branch Manager.
After successfully serving in roles within SaskCentral of progressively increasing responsibility, Keith was offered the position of Executive Vice-President, Corporate and Community Affairs and Corporate Secretary.
As a member of the SaskCentral executive team, Keith provided overall leadership and strategic direction to management and support of SaskCentral’s democratic systems, structure and processes, ensuring effective, efficient and affordable corporate and credit union system governance. He was also responsible for leadership and support of SaskCentral’s government relations program, credit union governance and compliance support and SaskCentral marketing and communications. In addition, he acted as SaskCentral’s privacy officer.
In 2012, Keith stepped into his current role as CEO of SaskCentral.
Keith has achieved various professional development, technical and administrative courses, seminars and programs including a Certificate in Administration from the University of Regina and a Fellows designation from the Credit Union Institute of Canada.
On behalf of SaskCentral and the credit unions it represents, Keith sits on the board of the Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation and on the operating committees of a number of organizations within the credit union system. In addition to his many responsibilities with SaskCentral, Keith also serves on the volunteer board of Sherwood Co-operative Association Limited.
