Chief Transformation Officer
Duane Blahun joined SaskCentral on August 12, 2019.
In his position, Duane is a critical part of the Executive management team, helping to set overall strategic direction for the organization. He has executive oversight of the business areas of National Consulting, Strategic Solutions (includes Human Resources, Marketing & Communications and Strategic Support), and Member Relations. Duane also guides the human resources strategy and organizational culture by having responsibilities as Chief People Officer.
Duane came to SaskCentral with a wealth of experience and knowledge as a business and financial services executive within the Canadian financial services industry and credit union network. This includes his prior role as Chief Strategy & Member Engagement Officer with Alberta Central, his work as Vice President at Credit Union Payment Services (CUPS), and various leadership roles at both national and regional financial institutions prior to that.
Duane also has extensive experience in the areas of organizational effectiveness, culture change, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning and facilitation. This includes helping organizations assess and enhance their operating and strategic environments to best align culture, strategy, structure and processes to achieve the greatest results.
In addition to his Business Administration education from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Duane has attained a variety of professional development designations throughout his career. These include the Queens Executive Program Certificate (Strategy, Execution & Leadership) from Queens University; as well as the Financial Literacy for Executive and Directors Certificate and the Directors Leadership Institute Board Governance Program, Certified Credit Union Director, both from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
Duane is a past board member of the Alberta Community and Co-operative Association as well as EQUS REA Ltd. He currently represents SaskCentral on various special project committees and on the CUPS Payment Services Joint Venture management committee.
