Careers
SaskCentral is a great place to work. We ranked 6th on the 2008 list of Best Workplaces in Canada and 13th last year (2007). Read the Globe & Mail article. This is a very special honour because it is based on what our employees think of us.
SaskCentral is part of the credit union system. Our values are strong and they are reflected in the way we treat our employees. We invest in their wellbeing and strive to create an environment that encourages them to reach their full potential. We cultivate excellence in our organization through leadership, learning and respect.
Our employees are proud of the contributions they make through their work. They appreciate empowerment, opportunity, teamwork and work-family balance. They believe in making a difference – and so do we. We’ve been an Imagine Caring company since 1997 and now we’re working to integrate social responsibility into all aspects of our work environment.
We invite you to read comments from our employees about why SaskCentral is a GREAT place to work.
Why is SaskCentral such a great place to work?
Here’s how some of our employees answered that question:
“Management makes you feel at home, takes your family and home life into consideration and always comes through for its staff in all things that it does. They reward their employees in such ways as verbal recognition as well as financial recognition at almost every chance they get.”
“I feel very lucky to work here. I have great benefits, great co-workers and a job that is very challenging and stimulating. I have a lot of autonomy and responsibility, but also a lot of support.”
"The treatment of people; it is fair and equitable.”
“The organization is involved in the community and province on a number of levels, from supporting a local after-school art program to a city-wide marathon to provincial sports like soccer. The company offers financial support and staff gets involved directly in many of these efforts on ‘work time’ and as volunteers. We feel our work here matters to the credit union membership we serve and matters to our community as well. We share common goals beyond just the business we do.”
“So many examples in the short time I’ve been here. Last year, when it was announced that we made the ‘Best Workplaces List’, we were all told to leave early, which was very nice. What made it special is that everyone chose to spend their free time together to celebrate the accomplishment.”
“We have a cafeteria that is subsidized by the company to keep prices very nice for us! Our employee benefits package is remarkable, and we have our own employee credit union with awesome rates for loans. We have onsite blood donor clinics, United Way campaigns, food bank drives, and other internal events that make us – as employees – feel like we’re doing good things for our community. We have a corporate citizenship program that supports loads of worthy causes in our community, such as the Adult Learning Centre, the Queen City Marathon and soccer throughout the province. For your career, there are loads of opportunities for upward mobility here. Our financial performance has been outstanding for years, consistently returning 10% - 14% to our stakeholders, and sharing the profits with all of our employees as well. And when you need some compassion for the things life throws at you, the company and your colleagues are always there to support you.”
